In January 2018 we launched the Flag Football Under 14 campaign aimed at preventing Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), the brain disease that has been diagnosed in 177 of 202 former football players studied at the VA-BU-CLF Brain Bank. CLF co-founders Christopher Nowinski, Ph.D. and Dr. Robert Cantu were joined by Boston University School of Medicine’s Dr. Lee Goldstein, Pro Football Hall of Famers Nick Buoniconti and Harry Carson, and The Oakland Raiders legend Phil Villapiano, each of whom spoke passionately about why parents should wait to enroll their children in tackle football until age 14. Visit FlagFootballu14.org to learn more about the campaign and why age 14 is so important.
