Nick Buoniconti Brain Pledge

Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Nick Buoniconti held a press conference at the Boston University School of Medicine to announce that he was pledging to donate his brain to CTE research. Buoniconti played for the Boston Patriots, and was a star on the 1972 Miami Dolphins "No Name" defense. Buoniconti pledged to donate his brain to the Concussion Legacy Foundation, Boston University and the VA-BU-CLF Brain Bank. The 76 year-old has been diagnosed with dementia, and told the New York Times, “I owe it to the thousands of others who will follow me on this trek. My life is not what it was, and I just want to be able to help with Ann [McKee's] research and hopefully the research will end up helping so many other players.”
