Michael Burke joined the Concussion Legacy Foundation team in January 2017 as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator. He manages CLF's national concussion awareness program, Team Up Speak Up. Michael graduated from Providence College with a degree in English Literature and prior to joining the Foundation had worked as a Marketing Intern for the Independence Trail Education Foundation in Providence, RI.
A life-long athlete, Michael grew up in Seekonk, MA where he co-captained his high school football team and swim team. He went on to play rugby at Providence College and developed further as a player on the Oxford University Rugby League Football Club during his year abroad in England.
Michael has been personally affected by several concussions throughout his athletic career and has seen close friends struggle to maintain healthy and balanced lives in the wake of devastating head injuries. He hopes that his work with the Foundation will help improve the safety of sports so that athletes can lead happy and productive lives long after the last whistle blows.
