Alexandra Veuthey

Alexandra Veuthey is a clerk and scientific counsel at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Alexandra graduated with a Master in Sports Law and Judicial Professions from the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, in February 2007, and passed the bar in July 2009. During her studies, she was a research assistant for Professor Denis Oswald, and a scientific collaborator at the International Centre for Sports Studies (Centre International d’Etude du Sport, CIES). After completing her legal training in 2009, she returned to this centre in order to work on new research projects.

She also took on the role of CIES/FIFA Master Law Module Coordinator.

She has worked in several law firms, and provided legal advice to various international sports federations and athletes based in Switzerland and abroad.

As the author of numerous published works, particularly in Sports Law, she has spoken at international conferences (Australia, France, New Zealand, Switzerland). She has taught within the CIES/FIFA International University Network (Senegal), the CIES/FIFA Master & Master in Sports Law (Switzerland), the International Institute of Human Rights (France), the Melbourne Law Masters, as well as the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) Programs of Continuing Legal Education (Australia).

In addition, her international experience includes the completion of an LL.M in Sports Law and Common Law, and a Ph.D. on the regulation of concussion in sport at the University of Melbourne.
