Suzanne Owens
Suzanne is a Consultant Nurse with expertise in Advanced Clinical Practice, with over 24 years of experience working in Emergency Departments in the UK and Australia. She is also a visiting fellow at Sheffield Hallam University.
Suzanne’s advocacy for brain health is personal, inspired by her father, Billy McEwan, a former footballer who lived with Parkinson’s Disease and later dementia, which was found to be caused by Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). His CTE diagnosis was confirmed through brain donation after his death in 2022, linked to repeated head impacts during his career.
As a trustee of Concussion Legacy Foundation UK, Suzanne supports the Foundation’s mission to advance the prevention, research, and treatment of concussion, advocating for greater understanding and care for those affected and their families.
