17th Annual Concussion Legacy Gala

The 17th Annual Concussion Legacy Gala took place on Friday, Nov. 1 at the Hilton Boston Park Plaza!

We are beyond grateful to each person who attended, sponsored, and supported the 17th Annual Concussion Legacy Gala. More than 350 gala attendees – plus dozens of online silent auction participants – combined to create the largest single-night fundraise in CLF’s 17-year history. We are proud to announce this year’s gala raised more than $1 million to support our research, education, and prevention programs. Thank you to our presenting sponsor The Collatos Family Foundation and all our sponsors for helping us achieve this milestone for the first time.

The gala hosted by retired Navy SEAL Jason Redman highlighted the progress made in concussion and CTE research, prevention, education, and patient support over the past year. Generous CLF donors stepped up to raise $500,000 to accelerate recruiting for BANK CTE, the ambitious BU CTE Center study aiming to identify a biomarker for CTE in the blood so the disease can be diagnosed in living patients.

NHLPA Executive Director Marty Walsh received the 2024 CLF Impact Award for his advocacy on behalf of current and future pro hockey players. In his remarks at the gala, Walsh made headlines by announcing the union is forming its first-ever CTE Advisory Committee to help hockey players better understand CTE and the impact of concussions on the brain.

In addition to NHLPA Executive Director Marty Walsh, we were honored to be joined by former NHL players Craig Adams and Marty McInnis, NFL alumni Malik Jackson, Ted Johnson, Shane Bannon, and Isaiah Kacyvenski, former NBA center Paul Grant, and WWE Superstars Austin Theory and Grayson Waller.

We hope all who attended left more inspired than ever to pursue concussion safety without compromise and a world without CTE, and we are so thankful for your support of our mission.
